News

At our most recent business meeting, Lord Preston of Aschehyrst retired from the position of Seneschal. Thank you, Preston, for "twenty-five quarters" of excellent service! Our Acting Seneschal is currently Master Li Kung Lo.

At the Festa di Michelangelo event March 6th, three of our residents were honored: Lady Juliana Osborne received a token from the Queen for her service as a Lady in Waiting, Master Iheronimus Brückner was selected as the new King's Champion of Arts and Sciences, and Mistress Eleanor Catlyng was inducted into the Order of the Laurel. Vivant!

Our most recent business meeting was 4/25/10. We have not yet scheduled our next meeting.

Welcome to a land where the arrows fly true… the swords swing, rapiers swirl, and axes fly… artistic hands create jewelry, leatherwork, calligraphy and illuminated pages… talented stitchers create period clothing… cooks convene… nimble feet dance… troubadours, bards and mummers entertain… music fills the air… the mead flows freely… laughter and camaraderie prevail… swallows swoop and sing… and furry beasties burrow.

Welcome to Aschehyrst!

The Canton of Aschehyrst is an official branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) — an international non–profit educational organization dedicated to the study and recreation of the European High Middle Ages. The SCA "period" is defined as western civilization from roughly the year 600 to 1600 AD, although we welcome visitors from distant lands who may have traded or had contact with Western Europe during that timeframe.

Geographically, Aschehyrst occupies the westernmost portion of the Barony of Carolingia, within the Kingdom of the East.
